Perii is a multi-phase product journey, and Phase 1 marks the first step in transforming behavioral assessments from static reports into a scalable, AI-powered platform. I led the design of the Phase 1, delivering immediate value while laying the foundation for future phases.

Behavioral assessments aren’t niche tools, they’re core to how top companies hire, coach, and retain talent. This means billions of dollars in talent decisions are being made with data that is underused, misunderstood, or too slow to act on.

That’s why Perii is a game-changing opportunity: instead of static PDFs, it makes behavioral intelligence AI-powered, real-time, and embedded into daily workflows.

The challenges

Traditional tools like PI, DISC, and MBTI left users struggling:

1. Hard to interpret without certification.
2. Locked in static reports that quickly lost relevance.
3. Disconnected from daily tools like Slack, Teams, and Outlook.

Managers, HR leaders, and executives were left with insights they couldn’t act on, wasting potential in hiring, coaching, and team design.

Conversational AI Assistant

A natural language interface where users can ask questions like “How should I coach Alex?” or “What’s our team’s blind spot?” and instantly receive plain-language insights from assessment data.

Role-Based Dashboards

1. Managers: team dynamics, coaching advice.

Organizational Tree View

A dynamic tree view that maps the entire organization’s structure, helping managers and HR instantly see reporting lines, team clusters, and interdependencies.

Individual Insights & AI Interaction

From the org chart, users can click into any team member to view their behavioral insights and even ask Perii targeted questions about that individual — e.g., “What motivates David?” or “How does Emily prefer feedback?”

Designing for Adoption at Scale

Phase 1 was about proving adoption. Through 10+ client interviews and 37 usability sessions, we refined flows and addressed gaps:

1. Pivoted from heavy customization to simplicity: early tests showed users didn’t want to configure reports — they wanted Ask Perii to give them plain-language answers instantly.
2. Refined org chart navigation: early prototypes made large orgs feel overwhelming, so we added progressive disclosure and search to keep it usable.
3. Validated trust in AI responses: added explainability cues (like “based on X assessment data”) so users knew where insights came from, which built confidence in adopting Perii.

Impact & Funding

Phase 1 delivered measurable outcomes:

1. 25% higher weekly engagement than static reports.
2. 100+ queries per user per week, proving daily adoption of Ask Perii.
3. Improved retention through nudges and coaching insights.

Most importantly, the Phase 1 MVP design became a proof point for investors. Based on this foundation, Perii successfully raised angel funding, fueling growth into future phases.

Next Steps

With the support of angel funding, we are expanding the Perii team to accelerate growth — adding 2 full-time engineers, 1 product manager, and 1 UX designer to scale product development.

Phase 2 — Expanding Core Intelligence
1. Job Fit Intelligence: Match candidates to roles with precision using behavioral data.
2. Team Sandbox: Simulate team structures and forecast collaboration outcomes.
3. Native Behavioral Exams: Perii will now conduct its own assessments, eliminating the need to rely on external platforms or upload reports.
